UPDATE! 12/01/22 I can afford fancy boxed mac and cheese now that I got a sweet job at Robin.&nbsp;

	Brooklyn Soda WorksArt Direction+Design

	Branding/packaging for local soda startup. They were ready to bottle their super-awesome organic soda.
During the research phase I was drinking gallons of BKSW’s many flavors to their competitors, visiting prospective stores where BKSW would sell, and determining how there new visual identity will position them in the market.
After that the team designated me as the project lead. I developed concepts, mangaed a team of 3– executing a slew of designs/illustrations, and presented a handful of iterations to our client.&nbsp;

The deliverables provided were a labeling system, a custom hand-drawn typeface, Illustrations, brand guidelines, and a really fun emoji/logo system.&nbsp;

New York Fashion
Film FestivalArt Direction+Design
	Film festival rebrand, including intros and animations. Debuted at the SVA Theatre in Chelsea.&nbsp;
While @ Anti Anti Studio we were approached by The NYFFF for a rebrand. It was one of their first moves to expand internationally. Considering that, a big aspect of the identity had to be modular, so the concept we developed was based on
the constantly changing sillohettes of fashion. &nbsp;

After a round of concepting with the team, I was in charge of Art Directing/designing posters, flyers, podium wrap, and animating/art directing the theatre maquet, film bumper, and the animated logo mark.

Redbeard BikesArt Direction+Design
 Ilya and his Kasia were opening a bike shop and needed branding. They called Ilya “Redbeard” at his old job, the name stuck and they decided to use it for the shop. We spitballed some concepts about owls, geometry, and bikes. Then kabam! Super-smooshed the ideas into a logo. Looks awesome on shirts, black shirts specifically. When it came to signage; fabrication shops were giving us estimates that were over budget. So I took it upon myself—built the frame outta some scrap steel, applied 50 coats of paint, silkscreened a giant logo, and handed Redbeard a sign (While @ Anti Anti Studio).<img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/d131ef0d814732896b2d70285e90c443237e229a566aa19127b1e0d4edd147e5/Redbeard2-2.jpg" data-mid="891633" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/77fd717602c4a3ca5ba28cbc8980ba34d6d1e36589f966f69a395125ccc4bc78/Redbeard2-3.jpg" data-mid="891631" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/4e86560d632f0ca8089c7753d74490f22641aa55522cdaed6dd1b0a9cde7e51f/Redbeard2-1.jpg" data-mid="891635" border="0" />

Loveskills–MultiplicityArt Direction+Design
	Channeling psychedelic tunnels for Loveskills aka Richard Spitzer’s 5th album Multiplicity.
(While @ Anti Anti Studio) My Creative Director&nbsp; determined the art direction on the cover, my job was to apply it to the back of the record, cd jacket, and cd. I definitely used the hell out of that Blend feature on Ai.

Financial ServicesArt Direction+DesignClients: Oppenhiemer Funds, Deustche Bank, DWS investments, Novus
	Worked on a bunch of financial branding, web, and corporate events, 2010-2015. To keep the lights on @ Anti Anti Studio we worked with Deutsche Bank and other financial services. I had multiple tasks to tackle during these projects; concepting artwork based on corporate event/marketing theme, Art Directing, executing/designing, handling logistics for installations, prepping for print, video editing, and motion graphics work.&nbsp; &nbsp;<img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/ca85aa3a6c93eef6837f78d7442aa8ed7aab3eef68187c5a3d9cdf579743b05f/Financial-1.jpg" data-mid="891181" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/a5e3a0837e0dd4dce69542f214ea0b46d18faff8e9129ec7a92ff1c1aeec0006/Financial-8.jpg" data-mid="891182" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/776b8b0ac7088fe1d72613d7b08d37e221bdad11f6f1c14bdda8a8dd6b041b4b/Financial-5.jpg" data-mid="891185" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/468ec9ee3a8271367b0c2042720fea2916ba48187c6e178fc4d99367a357f557/Financial-4.jpg" data-mid="891186" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/29c3144b48b5c81d72d7068fbff2d3b4856644d2a52c3f997acc94718abcc018/Financial-3.jpg" data-mid="891183" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/1f974fc332f7b7af6f6054feed3ff3ac488feb96d06befa5049ee83a7f2c786c/Financial-2.jpg" data-mid="891179" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/e61e35cc1d3dd21e41f8a24a22ffd5c8550594b47c8b1ce70dfaf73a56a3b3c6/Financial-7.jpg" data-mid="891184" border="0" />

Simons Foundation
Annual ReportArt Direction+Design
 This was the most satisfying and nerve racking assignment I had in my career. I presented weekly design updates to Marilyn Hawrys Simons and a board of super intelligent directors and analysts.&nbsp;I was tasked with developing a visual style for the entire book– communicating how the year went in a modern, considerate, and digestible way.

Looking back it was one of my most collaborative experiences, I worked along side (client) analysts to organize content, worked with scientists and mathematicians on accurately depicting their data, and art directing/setting up photoshoots for staff and case studies. <img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/c7dd7ee2a6302d6e283221a61ea90fff4d42d87815badfa2ff7882fbbf0e5156/SimonsAnnual-1.jpg" data-mid="891636" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/3da10cd87e1f2fa2ce150e98a66d823465966b1dd9fc7b889aed9426223cd7af/SimonsAnnual-2.jpg" data-mid="891637" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/4b0ecfd4100898fc980dbc10191ffbd52ab1deae8a747a6c33e11db576af57de/SimonsAnnual-4.jpg" data-mid="891640" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/022c01b67e0159fdf22e087571f05a4a01c37294a34532be7d35e63a83a66818/SimonsAnnual-3.jpg" data-mid="891638" border="0" /><img width="2732" height="1536" width_o="2732" height_o="1536" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/ccdb777706729a7c7a9d87287c42cbe0e803c1fc775b3862d5661ff6ce9fe2a4/SimonsAnnual-5.jpg" data-mid="891639" border="0" />

After AntiAnti (last branding agency I worked at) and During my time at Guigon I started exploring what my personal branding would look like on my off time. At first I was going to make a minimal, hyper modern, bespoke furniture brand, but after a while it felt fake. 3 or 4 years into exploring I decided to use an Anime/Manga aesthetic that I grew up admiring–to tell stories. &nbsp;

I’m James Amoros, here’s a long winded explaination of the name of my site

“...Let's talk about time travelin' Mind Javelin, Somethin' mind unravelin' get down”–Andre 3000 in “Return of the G”

Well, that’s how it sounded, turns out it was really “Rhyme Javelin”. But at the time (around 2001) I couldnt stop hearing it the other way around. I’d always think , “The hell is a Mind Javelin??? That s**t sounds dope. Man, if I had my own thing– I’d call it that”. After stewing on it for 17 years I figured– I shouldn’t be talking about Mind Javelin, I should be making the gear you’d need to play. &nbsp;

	1. Alien Tennis Ball Summon:One of the first promo posters I drew.&nbsp;

	2. 2sjay Album art:
So this dude on tumblr reblogged my drawing with his song under it. At first I was like “the f***?” but then I was like “aight, whatever gets my work out there”. I thank him for sharing my work and then hes like “Can you draw a cover for me?”. We went back and forth&nbsp; about it and he was starting out on his own and didnt have the money to pay me, but before I was ready to tell this dude “NO”- I realized “Man, I’m in the same position...I gotta treat him the way I’d want to be treated”.

So I drew this scene with him and his future self.

	3. Luke Sherman Album release promo art:Every morning I get my coffee and croissant at Sweetleaf LIC. Luke (the Barista) saw some of my work, asked if I could draw a flyer for‘em. He kinda scares me. He has mild serial killer vibes.
	4. Otakon 2018 ( I think)Submitted to the Otakon artist alley. Painted the kid on a piece of cel/acitate that’s used for animation. The background was printed and sandwhiched into a large frame. It was an awesome process that felt&nbsp; like a cel you’d see in a museum or at an auction. Didn’t sell though 
	5. Items
It’s hand drawn type that says “Items”&nbsp;
	6. Page 1 reject for silent comic/manga project&nbsp;
We decided that the Mask and helmet were dope, The Hokto Shinken Vibes are awesome, but the body looks like a floopy mountain. REJECTED!&nbsp;

Time In 12oz.Ongoing Project

	The style’s inspired by Anime’s like The Fist of the Northstar (American dub), Ninja Scroll, Akira, Tokyo Godfathers, Sailor Moon, Evangelion.

Series of images for an autobiography (Half fiction, half IRL). My Family and friends have been going through a lot the past decade– major life adjustments, tragedies. I had lost tons of history and memories. “Time in a 12oz.” is a recording of my family’s history along side the events I wanted to happen but will never get to witness. It’s also a reference to the insane ammount of soda I drink– usually to manage stress, and my attempt at condensing 50+ years of perspective into a small digestible serving.
